What You'll Do - 2 Day/1 Night

After a 45-minute vehicle transfer from your city hotel, we reach Bengoh Dam jetty, situated at a mountain opening of the majestic Bengoh Range. Here you’ll prepare for a scenic 20-minute boat ride across a tranquil lake surrounded by the majestic Bornean mountains. Once disembarked, it’s time for a 30-minute hike to Kampung Kiding with its stunning views of Blue Lake below. We then check into the local homestay and immediately begin our trekking adventure to a stunning waterfall.

Today’s hiking continues for around an hour (a little steep at times) but is well worth the effort as it will bring you to a series of spectacular waterfalls, whose crystal-clear waters are surrounded by deep jungle. Part of the trail includes a crossing of suspension bamboo bridge and we’ll then settle down under one of the waterfalls to soak in a crystal clear waterfall in the middle of the lush rainforest. After a spot of relaxation at the falls, it’s time to learn the art of Dayak cooking and its unique culinary methods. Using bamboo harvested from the jungle, this is a hands-on cooking experience that you all will enjoy.

With bellies suitably full and we’re dried off from swimming, we return to the village passing through pepper farms, where we will see how the spice is harvested and processed. In the evening, you’ll then experience the most memorable village stay with the friendly Bidayuh tribe while you learn traditional culinary skills and craft making of the highlands.

In the morning, wake up early to view the spectacular mist over the scenic lake below from the vantage point of your homestay patio. After breakfast and spending free and easy in the village, we return to Bengoh by boat before transferring (15 minutes) back to civilization.

What You'll Do - 3 Day/2 Night

The journey begins with an hour plus drive along a quiet country road. After we enjoy the tranquil countryside views, we’ll take a boat ride across a tranquil lake for another 20 minutes to the trailhead. After a roughly 45 minutes hike to a double waterfall, you’ll experience the crystal clear water ecstasy and have an opportunity to take a dip and cool off. We will then settle down under one of the waterfalls to soak in a crystal clear water surrounded lush rainforest. After a spot of relaxation at the falls, it’s time to learn the art of Dayak cooking and their traditional culinary skills. Using bamboo harvested from the jungle, this is a hands-on cooking experience and in the evening, you’ll experience a village stay with the friendly Bidayuh tribe.

In the morning, wake up early to view the spectacular mist over the scenic lake below. After breakfast and spending free and easy in the village, we continue our trek further into the remote interior to reach a second village, also with a view overlooking a beautiful scenic lake. The locals are skilled in setting up hunting traps and are extremely proficient in harvesting the jungle for their daily needs, so along the trek, your community guide will demonstrate these basic jungle survival skills. We will also pass through many fruits and pepper farms, where your local guide will show you how the spice is harvested and processed. In the evening, enjoy the warmth and the hospitality of the local host before settling in the village homestay.

On the last day, after spending more time with the villagers to understand the constant struggles of this remote community, we say goodbye to our host and return to Bengoh by boat (30 minutes) before transferring back to civilization.
