We had an amazing mountain biking tour throughout Bau Jungle and it was amazing! I am a first timer and the trail was slippery from the rainy season but our tour guide, Francis was being so cautious and helpful throughout. We enjoyed every minute of it. The trip ended with delicious local lunch. We would highly recommend this tour!
Mountain Biking Gold Mine & Cave Discovery (Off-Road or On-Road)
Explore Sarawak’s rich history on this mountain biking Kuching cave tour. We have stops at some of Borneo’s oldest gold mines and Kuching’s famous Fairy Caves (Fairy Cave is closed on every Monday, so the program is changed to Wind Cave instead) where you will catch a glimpse of local wildlife. Then choose from either the off-road jungle adventure, for those feeling a little daring, or the on-road country ride through traditional villages. On both tours, you are rewarded at the end with a delicious, local lunch!
Remarks: Fairy cave close every Monday, Wind Cave close every Tuesday

What You'll Do - Off-Road Tour
After a scenic 45-minute car ride, we arrive in Bau to set up the bike and attend a safety briefing before riding a section of 2km on tarmac road to reach a beautiful area known as the “Sleeping Beauty” karst mountains. Take a scenic photo op and maybe a sneak peek at some hidden gold mines which was at times still being mined illegally, and is now close to the public by the national park for safety reason. We then head straight to the Fairy Cave using a section of 1.5km tarmac road that can be busy during weekend border market days. After the road junction, ride on some beautiful country road surrounded by beautiful limestone karst mountain to reach the impressive Fairy Cave. Walk up a series of flights of stairs to reach the entrance of the chamber. The approaching chamber will take your breath away on first sighting and it offers spectacular view to both inside and outside the cave. Coming down from the cave, it’s time for some off-road adventure to experience the challenging up and downhills of the rainforest trails! Return to the Bau town for some well deserved lunch before a quick ride to the end point to pack up the bike and transfer back to Kuching.
Note:
(1) Fairy Cave is closed every Monday, so we will head to the Kuching’s Wind Cave instead. Here we will walk through the dark caverns where you can hear the bats hanging from the ceiling as well as the sound of them searching for swiftlet bird nests on the cave wall!
(2) The route can be affected by continuous rural roadwork improvement or restriction by the national park authority. Therefore, part of the route can be changed from time to time resulting in shorter off-road section or route diversion.
