What You'll Do
Sarawak Cultural Village is an award-winning Living Museum that spans across 17-acres of land just across from Damai Beach Resort and Hotels. Experience Sarawak in Half-a-day at Sarawak Cultural Village and learn about the local culture and lifestyles of the various ethnic groups in Sarawak.
At Sarawak Cultural Village, there are replica buildings representing every major ethnic group in Sarawak, mainly the Bidayuh, Iban, Orang Ulu, Penan, Melanau, Malay & Chinese. Take a walk through this remarkable living museum showcasing Sarawak’s cultures as well as beautiful & authentic traditional buildings. All buildings are staff with members of the ethnic groups in traditional costumes and carrying out traditional activities. Individual housekeeper act as storytellers who describe and interpret our way of life for each tribe including You can partake in daily activities such as learning how to throw a Malay spinning top, target practice with the blow hunting pipe of the Iban as well as how to make the famous sago flour in the Penan hut. Each house attendance will happily pose with you for photos too!
There are daily multi-cultural dance performances in the village’s own theatre. The show is an award winning (for the best choreography) 45 minute cultural performance of songs & dances, a flurry of colors in a stunning multi-ethnic performance.
