Kuching Orangutan Tour

Meet the Awesome Orangutans

Perfect Kuching Day Trip

A Personal Encounter

An amazing orangutan experience

The Semenggoh Nature Reserve is a totally protected area (TPA) for the habitat of semi-wild orangutans in Sarawak. Within this nature reserve is the Semenggoh Wildlife Center where visitors can have a close encounter with these adorable apes. These orangutans may have learned to fend for themselves in the wild but they do return to the centre for their feed. When fruits are scarce in the jungle. The feeding sessions take place twice a day; 0900 and 1500hrs.

Wardens from the state-run Sarawak Forestry Corporation rehabilitate other injured or captive animals as well. But often most of the work is done on orphaned or rescued orangutans. Today, there is a thriving population of healthy adolescent and young adult orangutans, which now breed in the wild.
